Rock House Natural Bridge - Jamestown, Kentucky

My visit to Rock House Natural Bridge was a solid experience, deserving a 4-star rating. While it didn't offer anything particularly exceptional, it had its own unique charm.

The hiking options were a bit limited, and the terrain didn't provide much in terms of an adventurous trek. However, for those seeking a more relaxed outing, the surroundings were pleasant enough.

Fishing at the site was a mixed bag. While you can engage in this activity, the rocky bottom can pose a challenge. Unfortunately, my experience involved losing both lures to snagged rocks, which was a bit frustrating. If fishing is a priority, it's worth being aware of the conditions.

On a positive note, the natural bridge itself was a highlight. Pretty cool in its own right, it added a touch of natural beauty to the overall ambiance. For those interested in geological formations, it certainly stands out.

In summary, Rock House Natural Bridge is a decent destination with its own unique appeal. While it may not boast extensive hiking opportunities and fishing can be a bit tricky, the charm of the natural bridge makes it a worthwhile visit for a moderately enjoyable outdoor experience.

The Natural Bridge at Rock House Bottom is definitely worth the drive. This massive arch that is parallel to the Cumberland river is a must see geological feature. The span and the depth plus the actual height make this arch as impressive as any that I have seen. And with the Cumberland River as the backdrop this place becomes almost a spiritual endeavor.
I highly recommend.

Very VERY pretty place, the graffiti was super cool, the amount of nests on the ceiling, the amount of fauna was wild for it being a rather touristy area (butterflies, birds, different bugs, fish)

This is such a beautiful place to visit. So wonderful that the family saved it from destruction and now the public is permitted to visit. We enjoyed walking down by the river, then, when it started to rain, we sat under the Rock House and ate our sandwich lunch. It was so beautiful and peaceful, with rain pattering on the leaves outside.

Beautiful historic area (minus the graffiti) right on the Cumberland River. The access road down to the parking area is pretty washed out in places but I managed to make it in down just fine in a Nissan Altima. We parked next to the headstones and took the path on the far left to get down to an area to cross the small stream and then crossed it again to get to the rock house and on down to the riverbank!

It was pretty cool to see. Parking area was very unkept. There is a ledge that you must climb down to get to it. I am a bit older and just didn't want to try it. Younger people would not have problem with it. Got a couple of pretty good pictures anyway. The road to it isn't market and Google maps is way off.

Stopped by this lil piece. Just a quick walk down to the river. Such a beautiful natural sight!

One of Kentucky's hidden gems. Beautiful arch with a lot of history and great fishing. Don't forget the path to the top on the right side. Can see long views of the Cumberland River both ways.
