The home is great, but RTH doesn’t like to fix their mistakes. Going through the process, the woman who was helping us was getting ready for retirement and was not great at communicating anything. We would ask for updates and not hear back for a week or two after requesting them. When the time came to sell our house, she had waited until after rates began to climb and told us we could have listed our house a month ago. When my house was completed they said they had to change the elevation of my backyard so it wouldn’t be as flat as they had promised, this wasn’t communicated to us until we asked about the difference.
When we brought up the water pooling we were told when the neighbor gets sod it will drain better. The neighbor has sod out in and my backyard is a a pool for 2-3 days after it rains. The trees they selected for our backyard look dead after 2 years in the ground.
The carpet they sell you gets matted down really quickly and they told us that sucks but they won’t help with that. It’s designed to only look good for a short time and if you want to replace it after that it’s on you.
The first winter after we moved in here their delivery trucks were parking on our boulevard. My boulevard now has random dips and when I mow it, the mower can go into the groove and scalp the lawn. RTH said they would help fix the issue this caused but they haven’t communicated anything about this.
Overall we love our house, but RTH is a pain to work with.

Homebuyers you can stop right here. Robert Thomas Homes (RTH) is an amazing builder. Having dealt with many in the twin cities RTH has them all beat. My Relationship Specialist Samoe Ekholm is just that. Not only is she a sales consult, but she builds a special rapport will each prospective buyer. She knows the product inside and out. She can provide all the details of the build and more in record time. The building process of RTH is amazing from start to finish. They have their act together and make it happen without a hitch. I could go on and on. Samone !! Thank you very much. Anyone can tell you like your job, you compassion and knowledge is 2nd to none. Thank You Samone !!!! RTH give her a big raise! She deserves it. AVOID if all possible. They are not any different than any of the national builders. So don't expect high end results. Any of the national builders could provide the same quality at a fraction of the price.

Their sales is great but their after sales services is terrible. The build process is a complete nightmare and the project manager is basically non-existence. If you have to build with them, please make sure to follow and have an inspector to check every stages. They will not take responsible or own up their mistake once they handover the house to you. So do not let them force you to take possession of the house if they have not complete the house to your satisfaction.

I have been waiting patiently for a year for a simple concrete repair to be completed. I was told today in an email and I quote “ They are working to get all deadline escrow work completed prior to completing service repairs. I feel that I have waited long enough and the repair needs to be completed. I’m hoping I do not have to take legal action for such a simple fix.

We have had a terrible experience with Robert Thomas. Have had many issues that have never been addressed, or they push off until after the warranty so they can pull that card on us. Water in the basement, floors coming up everywhere and our house is less than 4 years old. Use someone else to build. Also super condescending towards women.

Hands down one of the best home buying experiences. We were hours away from signing a contract with Pulte homes but decided to make a quick pitstop at RT Homes in Lakeville to check it out. My wife and I met with Lisa Norton, who is smart, experienced, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Lisa helped us find our new home and answered all of our questions to ensure we got everything we wanted on top of moving in on time. We have lived in the house 3 weeks now and are loving the neighborhood. Our neighbors our great and the amenities are exceptional. I am really happy with the quality of construction and customer service. Everything that we need in our home is properly labeled and organized. My wife and I recommend this neighborhood and builder to any of our friends and family. We are extremely happy and are blessed to have such a beautiful home in such a wonderful community.
