Experience was very effortless. The Monroe County Clerks office was convenient and efficient. I renewed my auto registration and then walked down the hall around the corner to get a new driver's license. There were no lines and the people were friendly.

My wife and I went the the clerks office yesterday February 24th (Saturday)to change our tags from Maryland to Tennessee. When we arrived around 10, there was no one in line. We asked the young woman behind the glass where to go and she said she could help us( a sign on the glass said renewals). We had two vehicles to transfer and one to get specialty tags. While we were there, it started to get crowded. A woman who works in the same office (I guess she was the supervisor came out and yelled who is here for tag renewal only. A gentleman behind me said I am. The lady stand in that line and he said he was. The lady said I’m glad you can read because my clerks can’t. I’m sorry but you never call out one of your workers in public. That lady is just rude!! The young woman that assisted us was Katti and she was fantastic! That you for your help!

Renewed 2 license plates online 2 weeks ago, received 1 two days later but other one never came. Called county clerk 8 days later but apparently it has to be missing for 2 weeks to be declared lost. I get that they were closed yesterday for Good Friday, online says they are open today. Make the trip to a locked door says "reopen on Moonday ". Didn't realize today was also a holiday? So I've basically got a teen driving on a expired tag for 3 weeks?!?!

The only place open on a Saturday. I was expecting to have to wait. But no line, I was finished and on my way -getting new drivers license- in no time. Don't know your name, but who ever you were, you were the friendliest and most pleasant person. And I am sorry to say that doesn't happen often in a county/government office. Hope you have a great vacation at the beach.

Please always update your hours if the building is not going to be open on a regular week day.
We drove well over an hour to locked doors.
We checked the website and it stated you were open. As a government establishment, we expect you to be on top of the little things too. We should not have to call.

These ladies are some of the nicest most helpful, even at the end of the day when everyone is tired, they are still helpful and nice willing to explain patiently when needed.
