Kelly Masonry built us a beautiful new flagstone patio, walkway, and porch this summer. We were so impressed with this company. Their crew is super hardworking and talented. I appreciated that they stuck to the budget. John communicated with us really well, which helped everything go smoothly. They were thoughtful about details like making sure to reattach a fence at the end of each day of work, so our dog would have a safe place to run around. They're also knowledgeable about water management. They graded the patio, and ran drainpipes from the gutters, underneath the patio and walkway, all the way out to the back of our yard, to keep the water out of our basement. We're thrilled with the final results.

The experience working with Kelly Masonry is the best you will find!!!! We would rate higher we could. From the initial consult to the end product, every step was met with professionalism. The owner, John, came out to quote the project and made his suggestions from years of experience.

The crew was efficient and, as you can see from the pictures, we couldn't be more happy with the work. Below is a list of the work John and his team completed in the quoted time, even though the weather didn't cooperate.

- Tore down, extended and rebuilt stone retaining wall to the right of front door.
- Removed old walkway and replaced with a paver patio while adding additional stone to the bottom front of the house for grading purposes
- Installed a trench drain and tied into three downspouts and ran under pavers, out to a pop-up drain in the front yard.
- Ran a conduit pipe from electrical box to garage
- Removed concrete slab by garage door, and ran pavers the full length from the garage door past our side entrance.
- Installed a stone block retaining wall on the side of the house (this was not discussed in the initial plans, John and crew was able to add to workload mid-project).

Very accommodating, professional and the lines of communication are second to none. Would HIGHLY recommend!!!

Kelly Masonry recently completed a challenging project for us on our historic facility built in 1892. There were several surprises presented by the building as the project progressed. John and his team handled them with a calm and thorough approach. His communication is clear, he prioritizes clients needs, and leaves the property tidy after completing work. It''s really important to maintain the exterior of your chimney. We've been in our house 15 years and never had the outside of our chimney inspected. I thought that stone was built to last. Well....Recently, we noticed chips of mortar on our roof and around our house. We also noticed a leak in our bedroom closet, close to our chimney.

We called a local chimney service to look at our chimney. They inspected the inside and outside and let us know that what we really needed was a mason because our chimney pointing was in sad shape.

The first (and only call) we made was to Kelly Masonry. We schedule an appointment for a few days later, and John Kelly came out and assessed the situation. Turns out our chimney needed some serious repair. The chimney needed repointing. Some of our flashing was loose, and in one area, it was completely missing and wood below it was starting to rot (which probably explained the leak). We got on the schedule.

John and his staff were amazing from start to finish. He explained everything, documented the sad state of our chimney with "before" photographs and showed us the improvements with "after" photographs. He made the entire experience easy for us. His staff arrived when promised, were courteous and professional, and cleaned up all areas upon leaving. Our chimney looks great from top to bottom, and the closet leak appears to be fixed as well.

Fall 2019. We used John and the Kelly Masonry team to do a difficult water management project that was not easily understood before the project started. John and his crew kept applying their patience and professionalism and craftmanship until a completely useful and attractive solution was found. Yes we had a plan at the outset but the key to the success of this particular project was smart masons/mechanics applying their significant skills with flexibility towards a mutually understood goal. I really don't know of many other companies that I would trust with such a challenge. I look forward to working with John and his team again.
