I worked with Hi-Tech Builders on an extensive remodel for an older property in Santa Monica. This was my first remodel I’ve done, and my advice to everyone is that selecting the right contractor is an extremely important aspect of a remodel! It might be the most important aspect.

Simply put, Hi-Tech went above and beyond my expectations, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to do a remodel. This was a serious project with plenty of permits that required a lot of construction expertise. They delivered. My project manager, Erick (Frederick), did a fantastic job.

The plans included a partial take down of a load-bearing wall, an entirely new kitchen, hook-ups for a washer/dryer, gas line change, flooring repair, significant electrical work and panel upgrade, new dual zone mini-split system, among other things. In short, it was a big undertaking by the entire Hi-Tech team. There are numerous details in a project of this size. Additionally, their pricing is reasonable in the construction and remodel market, and I interviewed several other contractors at the beginning of this project. I felt most confident in Hi-Tech and selected them. I made the right call.

I worked primarily with Erick (Frederick), who is one of their project managers. I also worked with Shay (project manager), and Karen/Henia as their support staff. Erick was really a value-add to this project – as another review mentions, I was also impressed by his dedication to my project. He has a lot of great qualities that make him an exceptional project manager: responsive, communicative, his attention to detail, and an overall expert in construction work. He’s also just a good guy in general and wants to do right by his clients.

I always felt supported and confident with him as my project manager. If something came up, as things will in a remodel, we always talked about it and came to a solution. Not once was I disappointed by the result. Erick also understands things come up during a project of this scope.

I feel as though he and I have been in almost constant communication for over a year. Additionally, the whole Hi-Tech team is full of nice, kind people to work with and who are also really good at what they do. We communicated extensively on Whatsapp, as well as phone and email. Erick also came by the job suite numerous times to check on progress, and to meet with me.

A few examples that stick out to me, highlighting the quality of the work and service they provided:

Early in the project, Erick proposed a layout change for the kitchen cabinets that ended up making a real, positive impact in the end -- advising me on the selection of a trash pullout cabinet and lazy susan, and finding a way to center the range/hood.

I raised some concern initially with a new wall, and Erick came by to address my concerns and found a way to adjust it with some additional work. I was happy with the result.

The work was done the right way, and the city inspections were all passed and completed by the end of the project. They didn’t cut any corners.

Hi-Tech hired a 3 person, deep-cleaning service at the end of my project.

I had several, detailed questions regarding an electrical panel and Shay took my call late in an evening to address my concern. I also had an issue with Home Depot’s countertop contractor, and Shay took time out of his day to hear my issue and talk through the situation

Really, I cannot say enough positive things in working with Erick - he is a great guy to work with, and I could not ask more of someone in a project manager position. Shay as well.

Small details make a difference the end, and Hi Tech / Erick made it a priority to make sure I was satisfied with the project. The quality of their sub-contractors is impressive as well: See the pictures for high quality work!

In summary, if I were ever to remodel again in the Los Angeles/Orange County Area, Erick would be the 1st person I call. All in all, it’s been a great experience with Hi Tech.

I want to say thank you to Hi-Tech Builders, Carlos M. , Ms.Bhey and the contract team who excelled in the expectation of my bathrooms. They definitely had seven months of patience dealing with me and the home insurance. Needless to say, Carlos and his team had everything dialed in and delivered. My husband and I recently completed a remodel of our 1920s Craftsman home with Hi-Tech Builder, and we couldn't be happier with the results. We wanted a renovation that would last for another 100 years, and after researching various companies, we chose Hi-Tech based on their stellar reviews and impressive portfolio.

Over the course of 14 months, they transformed our 2-bedroom, 1-bath home into a beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bath residence. From the start, we felt a personal connection with Sam, who came out to discuss our project. His follow-up visit with company owner David helped establish trust and made us feel valued as clients.

We appreciated the collaborative process as we discussed various options for expanding our existing home rather than opting for a demo and rebuild. Communication was excellent throughout this phase, and they assisted us in securing financing and choosing a design plan that aligned with our budget.

The demolition phase went smoothly, but we did encounter some challenges as we neared completion. There were a few miscommunications, particularly when our project manager was swapped out. While this created some continuity issues, the way Hi-Tech handled these random setbacks left us feeling satisfied overall.

Pros:
- Personalized care from the foreman and project manager. Sam and Erik ensured we felt heard and addressed any concerns promptly.
- Professional company with high-quality work.
- Excellent communication from the front office. Karen was always quick to respond and kept us updated.
- A special shout-out to our electrician, Leo, for his great work!

Cons:
- The project manager switch resulted in some inconsistency in communication.
- There was a miscommunication regarding the home being ready for move-in, as the cleaning crew did not show up. While this wasn’t directly Hi-Tech's fault, it was an inconvenience.

For anyone planning a renovation, I recommend keeping track of changes and agreements in a shared document with your team to ensure everyone is aligned on expectations.

Hi-Tech Builders are a great company to work with. The attention that they give is second to none. Carlos and Bhey are super easy to work with and they go above and beyond.

The communication is very clear and detailed. The turn around of the work needed is super quick and professional, we had a living room, hall way and two rooms redone with new flooring, within 3 days, everything was done.

The value you get is well worth the investment with Hi-Tech Builders, the communication is great, the work is amazing and they will make sure it is up to what was expected.

We had a very good experience with Hi-Tech Builders. We had an insurance claim with water damage. Carlos was very patient and detail oriented from the very beginning. He explained the whole process to us and the timeline. He made sure to check on the final work after each contractor. Even after the work is done (we signed off on the paperwork for completion), we had a minor issue with the faucet, he came over and fixed it quickly. Bhey at the front office was very attentive to our email inquiries too. We appreciate that Hi-Tech Builders restored our bathroom and living room after the water damage!

I wanted to start by saying that my husband and I were reluctant to even get a free estimate from Hi tech due to the reviews that we have read for yelp as well as other social media. We were going to cancel the appt but decided to give it a shot. When we met with Kobi we began to slowly felt like this guy was genuine and had knowledge regarding constructions. He was not like the other sales manager who just want to sell you the projects. Our bathroom project is not as simple as retiling the shower. We have a 64 year old plumbing to be replaced (the Drain line as well as the Hot and Cold water) We are getting rid of bath tub and making a walk in shower, move toilet and closing off a door and installing bigger window in place. When we met Kobi is very good with numbers, he is able to calculate all the tasks that we needed done in his head in 5 minutes gave us a number The price was fair but most importantly we felt that we trusted him to do what needed to be done. My husband and I discuss it for a couple of days add up the numbers and decided to sign contract with Hitech.
Every step of the way Kobi ensures that we have Permits, City Inspectors checking on the Electricity, underground Plumbing, Hot mop, Insulation. Daily job are supervised by Fredrick who was polite, listened to my wishes and changes that needed to happen. As with any construction there were several glitches. I would call Kobi in a panicked and he is always able to reassured me that someone or himself will come to resolve the issue. Also Karen, the office manager was quick to respond with any questions I have.. Kobi and Frederick have arranged really good competent Subcontractors.
We are currently 85% done with our bathroom project. I wanted to just share my experience so far so that others have the opportunity to try out this company. My experience has been positive because of Kobi and the wonderful P.M. Frederick.
I do believe that the company is changing their reputation because of the new hires. Recently Frederick has been here as the PM is doing an excellent job he listened to some of our concerns and will immediately remediate the issue. .. I will update you as soon as project is finish with more photos. Again here is the many steps that had to be done to correct the water damage. The pictures are not in chronological order.:(
