It's an exciting time in your life when you have the opportunity to build your dream home. The journey with David Bratcher Design Services was fantastic.

From the very beginning of the process, it was explained how we would proceed, the time frame, the cost and the details regarding our plans. Each step of the way, Mr. Bratcher was available to answer phone calls and meet with us in person to review changes and discuss next steps.

His experience and sound judgement as it pertains to construction was extremely valuable to our family. Our home is exactly what we wanted and we enjoy watching the process of building.

Mr. Bratcher took the time to meet with us recently and walk through our construction site. It is truly a collaboration. I recommend him to anyone who has a vision of where they would like to live.

Maybe he just wanted our deposit or didn’t take us seriously, but after 4 months of little progress and dreadful communication we had to find someone else to finish our design. Seems knowledgeable and nice enough. Everyone else we spoke with gave us a 3-4 week timeframe. Not sure how we even lasted this long.

Edit: When we first met on 4/30 we were told you’d be busy for 3-4 weeks and then could work on our project. If you couldn’t start till 6/26 that should have been relayed to us. It was not. Even if you did get our check at the end of May, it’s still September and we barely have a rough draft (your words). The only sizeable work completed was the first floor—which we love. The upstairs looks like it was drawn in a half hour and was almost nothing what we asked for... only one staircase went up, no connected bathroom, random bedroom above the garage when we specifically asked for bonus. We will need to start from scratch. No basement plan or structural was provided as claimed—which is fine. In fact we hadn’t even discussed the basement with you yet. Even you stated the elevation photos were rough—they are, and that’s also fine. It was a work in progress—no where near complete as you make it seem.

COVID is an absolute curve ball and honestly if that were to cause a delay, we would have understood. The fact that we could call/email/text and not get a response for weeks at times was reason enough for us to move on. The communication was so poor and timeline so slow we had no choice but to find an alternative draftsman.
