ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! A true Oasis in the desert! We stayed in the pet friendly Pool House which my husband, myself and our 2 pups l.o.v.e.d! It's kinda separated from the main house and other cottages on the property and although adjacent to the pool it still felt secluded even with people and kids enjoying the water.
The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette functional and bathroom spacious. We enjoyed the sitting area on the porch and the ability to chill with the dogs undisturbed. A truly beautiful property!
Breakfast was delicious, egg muffins, homemade muffins and bread and fruits; and the afternoon fresh baked cookies were delightful.
The perfect place to stay if visiting Joshua Tree NP. Highly recommend Kitchen in the Desert for dinner and suggest a reservation cause it was hopping both nights we ate there.

Imagine an oasis in the desert with an old, New England-type inn right in the middle. When we arrived at Campbell House, I felt like I was entering a movie set. It looks so out of place with an oasis of palm trees along with this grand house with cabins all around it. Once settled in, we were so glad we had chosen to stay here. Our room (Oasis) was large with an ample kitchen with table and chairs. There is a sizable sitting area in that room, too, that we found quite comfortable. Front desk and dining room service was warm and informative. I was happy to return here each day after hiking and exploring Joshua Tree.||A couple of flaws: the breakfast leaves something to be desired. Yes, it’s a continental breakfast but each offering (except the delicious bacon) seemed to be missing something. There was not a lot out, and the quiches and breads were quite small. Again, the bacon was plentiful and delish, but you can’t make a meal out of it. The pool is fully exposed to the sun and while there are a few large umbrellas to put up, they are on the side of the pool that hasn’t enough space for chairs so I’m not sure why they are even there. Two chairs were near one umbrella and, otherwise, all of the chairs were fully exposed. In over 90-degree heat and glaring sunshine, this left a lot to be desired.||The location of Campbell House is ideal for easy access to Joshua Tree National Park, and there are several good restaurants nearby. Your options for lodging are limited in this area, and this looked to me like the best place around! I’m so glad we chose it.

Had a lovely visit here. The staff were informative, and breakfast was delicious. There is such a peaceful feeling in the place. I got to meet a resident owl and a coyote.
The bed was comfy, the room was quaint and clean, and it was wonderful listening to the birds morning and evening when I sat outside. Service can be limited on the property, so you may need to wait a bit if you call for something after hours.

A wonderful oasis as close as you can get to joshua tree national park. Large studio unit with living room area and basic but sufficient kitchenette (no stove). Peggy checked us in quickly, then showed us wildlife on hotel property.

We have stayed at the Campbell House twice, once in 2019 and once again this month. It's a lovely oasis with an interesting history in the desert. If you stay here, ask to read the story. We have stayed in the Sunset cottage and Pool cottage and liked them both. The breakfast wasn't as good this month as it was five years ago, but our two night stay was still delightful. It is conveniently located near north entrance to the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park. If you stay here, also make sure to eat dinner at their sister property, the 29 Palms Inn.

Wife and I have stayed here half a dozen times over the years. It's our favorite location in the Joshua Tree area, and far surpasses any experiences we have had in the Joshua Tree and 29 Palms areas. The proximity to the East entrance of the park makes the location ideal, but it's the incredible dark skies that make this our favorite spot. We love to bring our telescope for some evening star gazing here. Very pet friendly and well maintained. The breakfasts are terrific. We highly recommend.

We recently spent two nights at the Campbell House Inn while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. First it is the perfect location to the park, nearly a straight drive. But once you see the palm trees in the distance, head down the little dirt road, you feel like you have entered a private oasis.||The house and property have quite a story to tell. We found freshly baked cookies upon our arrival, along with chilled water and coffee in the dining room/sitting room. Peggy was so friendly and helpful to us, as was the rest of the staff.||We stayed in the Sunset cottage at the back of the property. It was nice and quiet and very private. We had a little porch out front that looked off into the desert. Our cottage had a kitchenette with a mini fridge, sink, dishes, microwave and plenty of counter space if you are going to heat up leftovers from one of the restaurants or fix a small meal. In the kitchen was a table for two. The queen size bed was very comfortable and the living room cozy. There were plenty of windows to let the light in, and at night step out on the porch for views of stars. The bathroom was huge, and everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable.||The property is large, with outbuildings and cottages, a game room near the pool and a pool house where you will find towels for the pool.||Each morning between 7am and 9am you will find a continental breakfast in the main house dining room, sitting area. We had coffee/tea, pastries and muffins, along with sausage, hard-boiled eggs and egg casserole muffins. The perfect start to a day in Joshua Tree National Park. Each afternoon we found warm cookies back in the dining area.||It truly was an incredible stay. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Twentynine Palms. The Campbell House Inn and staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.

First impression is a dirt road to get there. But then you get there. Our cottage (Sunrise) was fantastic and extremely comfortable. Breakfast, while not as sumptuous as many B&Bs, was better than most hotels. Location near a public park and the National Park entrance itself was great. Beautiful outdoor dining at sister property a couple miles away. Would have liked to stay longer.
