We have been eating here occasionally for the past 8 years. For our most recent visit we arrived at lunchtime on a Saturday and both our waitress and the cashier made this restaurant one we want to visit again. They were knowledgeable and nice. We tried the white sauce because one of our party has a tomato allergy. It was a sour cream based sauce and not spicy, that I thought it was priced appropriately. The salsa was not very spicy but went well with the warm chips. I recommend the jalapeno steak with its fresh cooked onions, tomatoes a s jalapenos. Our only issues were that the steak was over cooked and the fajita meat was cut with the grain which made it difficult to chew. The flavor in both was good. I hope the chef just had an off moment. The atmosphere here is welcoming and good for groups or families

Rustic restaurant with excellent service. We were passing by on our way to San Antonio and decided to stop by Alejandra’s for lunch. We were promptly greeted with chips and salsa and waters. To our surprise the food arrived so fast that even my 6 year old commented on the speediness of the meal. Then the food was delicious. The refried beans were so so good and my quesadilla Azteca tasted amazing. The kids meals were also great. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

We had already eaten so didn't have much. I had tamales. We did go back in the morning and eat breakfast and I had the Migas. Both were very good. My son enjoyed his meal too. I think the wait staff is awesome and it's a really cute place.

Where to start? Atmosphere is cool. It’s an older building. Service was good.

The food- This is where the review gets negative. It’s Mexican food. There should be seasoning and spice. There wasn’t. I judge a Mexican food restaurant by its salsa. Some cilantro and garlic would have done wonders for it. It’s bland, no real flavor or heat. I had the jalapeño steak. If the steak wasn’t boiled in water, it might as well have been. That’s what it looked like. I was asked how I wanted it cooked, medium. It was well past medium. It was the most bland piece of steak I’ve ever eaten. It is topped with onion, tomato and jalapeños. Little to no flavor or heat. Wife had the tapatios. They were over fried with little flavor as well. The ranchero sauce on them might have been the best part of either meal. I live close but never eat in Ballinger. If you are driving through and wanting Mexican food, keep driving. San Angelo has much better options.

Conclusion, very bland meal that wasn’t worth stopping for.

The atmosphere and service were great. The food is, in my opinion, very Tex-Mex. The sauces are mild and more of a mole-type sauce.

It’s a little bit pricy. However the food was very good and good portion sizes. The service was fast and staff was friendly. The first batch of chips were good but the second batch was just out of the fryer and they were bitter. Overall it was worth the stop. We were on a road trip and this was one of our planned stops; you should make plans to stop if you’re passing thru.
