I have a spotzero unit on my Vessel. I called today for technical support and spoke to Gabe. The response time was excellent. He helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone and gave me some tips on improving the performance of the unit. Gabe was very professional and knowledgeable about the product. Highly recommended.

I cannot say that I had a good experience with EC Ruff Marine. I am outside the US and there is not a Max Power distributer where I am. I ordered a part from EC Ruff and gave a shipping address of a freight forwarder in Miami FL less than 45 miles from the EC Ruff office. I was quoted a $45.00 shipping fee as the standard shipping fee on this 1 lb part. $45.00 to go less than 45 miles! EC Ruff then sent the part to the billing address in Texas, NOT to the shipping address. This burdened me because there is not normally a way for me to receive a package at that address and it required that I get someone to replace the shipping label and deliver the package to a shipper. No consideration was ever offered by EC Ruff for their exorbitant shipping rate, their failure to ship to the proper address and my additional expense.

I do not recommend this business.

Tried to stick me with a bill way over their estimate to repair my windless. Poor communication. The CFO tried to bully me into paying. Bad coordination between the nice folks upfront and the back office.

By far the worst tech ever….. quoted 45k and ended up at 126k. He started the job on Aug 8th and after 3 months with constant issues regarding over time, parts ordered without need, no cleaning behind him, damaging teak leaving oil marks everywhere, etc…. At the end we asked him and his team to leave without finishing the job on November 10. Then another contractor came and finished the job in 5 days.

My dis-satisfaction was made so clear to them, that Ruff Marine send me a letter threatening that they would sue me if I spoke bad about their company.

Now that I’m in Europe, I can confidently say that Ed has quite a big mouth and seems to think everyone around him is foolish.

They said they would put me on their schedule to come take a look at my bow thruster issue. They said it would be a few weeks. A month later I called and they said it would be a few more weeks. Two months later I called and they said a few more weeks. Six months later I called and they said a few more weeks. I stopped calling.
