Some 15 years ago I visited KEF at their factory in Maidstone. The Muons had not long been released but unfortunately none were available to listen to at the time.
Fast forward to 2024 and I read that KEF had opened a music gallery on Great Portland Street in London and had the Muons in a listening room/theatre.
So, I journey to London and am lucky to find a Tuesday afternoon devoid of demonstrations and the most welcoming of gentlemen, Gerard, willing to take the time to show me around and show off the best that KEF have to offer.
We start with the Blades in one listening room which are indeed impressive before moving on to the mighty Muons. The experience did not disappoint.
Musical enjoyment, and specifically hi-fi is so subjective and should really be experienced rather than described. Gerard was keen to stress that this is KEF’s vision for this venue; To make their products accessible.
The unexpected finale of this visit was a demonstration of the full high-end home cinema install. I have to say that this was the best home cinema I have ever experienced. Breathtaking.
I have to commend Gerard for his warmth and knowledge and a huge thank-you for indulging me. It was a truly enjoyable couple of hours.

Booked a listening session to compare r11 and q11, staff were amazing so helpful and knowledgeable the room was perfect and the system setup tailored to you was perfect. Getting the chance to hear them side by side was a huge benefit and helped me walk away with the perfect speaker.

Worst After-Sales Service and Warranty Handling for Such Expensive Speakers

I recently purchased a pair of KEF LS60 wireless speakers for almost 5000 from the KEF website, and the experience has been incredibly frustrating. Before making the purchase, I carefully compared three high-end brands: Devialet, Bang & Olufsen, and KEF. Ultimately, I chose KEF because I believed in the brand’s quality, taste, and rich history. Unfortunately, what followed was a huge disappointment. Here’s what happened:

1. Delivery issues: Despite the hefty price tag, the delivery service only left the speakers at the entrance of my building. These speakers weigh 60 kg, and I was expected to carry them up to the 4th floor by myself. This is completely unacceptable for such an expensive, premium product.

2. Defective speakers and promised refund: After discovering defects in the speakers, I contacted KEF customer service. They offered me a 10% discount on August 16, and on August 20, I received an email saying that the refund would be processed and should appear in my account within 3-4 days. It is now September 11, and I still haven’t received the refund. Despite sending follow-up emails on August 29 and September 4, I’ve received no replies whatsoever.

3. Warranty issues: To make matters worse, on August 21, I was informed that because I accepted the 10% discount (even though I haven’t received it yet), my warranty would now be handled on a “case-by-case basis” at the discretion of the KEF technical team. This is a blatant violation of consumer protection laws, which clearly state that all products sold must come with a minimum two-year guarantee, regardless of any partial refund or discount.

The lack of response, combined with the attempt to change the terms of my warranty, is simply outrageous. I expected much better service from a brand like KEF, especially considering the price point of their products. If you’re considering purchasing from KEF, beware of potential issues with delivery, refunds, and warranties.

Visited the KEF store for a sound demo that we had booked online. My wife and I were warmly greeted and had the absolute pleasure of getting a tour of the incredible space with the manager, Gerard, who was not only a lovely person but also very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does.

We were then taken downstairs to the beautiful and perfectly sound treated demo room that was pre-setup with the equipment we wanted to listen to. After a brief walk-through, we were left to privately listen and experience the equipment using our own music for about an hour.

When we finished, we were unexpectedly invited for a quick sound demo in the 'ultimate experience room' where the left and right channels are driven by the Muons. Using the most articulate of audiophile terms to describe the experience won't do it justice so I won't even try to go there.

Simply put, if you're a music lover I urge you to at least stop by for a coffee.

We went in to your amazing store yesterday - Wednesday to check out the stunning showroom and see and hear anything to do with my hero David Bowie ......I have been a fan for 52 years. My husband Brian was waiting outside as he is recovering from his knee operation and was on his electric scooter. Having chatted to such lovely staff members inside about my love for Ziggy we were invited to go downstairs to listen to some tracks of the stunning Ziggy stardust Album. The hospitality and kindness of all of the staff was overwhelming .......Gerrard and his colleagues went the extra mile and made my husband Brian and I feel so very special. Helping with the scooter in and out of the premises, giving us water and also making my day complete with a t-shirt that I will cherish forever. The quality of the sound was just stunning, and the way we were treated was just wonderful. Thank you to Gerrard and his perfect team for making our visit so memorable. We will definetly be going back. Thank you.

Amazing experience in the store. We’ve been here today, the staff was amazing, everybody made us feel very at ease, serving us fresh water and fruit while listening a pair of LS60s. Gerard introduced to us and accompanied with extreme kindness and knowledge trough the amenities of the store, letting us listen to real gems, both in terms of speakers and musical selection. Definitely worth the visit if you are an hi-fi lover.
